Five for Friday, FREEBIE & a Giveaway!

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm linky up with Doodle Bugs to share what we've been up to in my class this week!

Bucket Filling Skills
We read some great books and refocused our efforts on being bucket fillers on a daily basis! You can read about it HERE.

Earth Day Headbands - FREEBIE!
Next week is Earth Day! Every year our school has an assembly for Earth Day when students share how they've learned about and taken action towards sustainability. In an effort to show our spirit for Earth Day, I created headbands for us to wear to the assembly from some fantastic clip art from Melonheadz.

If you'd like a copy of these headbands to make with your class, just click on the picture! (Thanks for leaving feedback!) Godspeed, Planet Protectors!!!

Bengali New year
We celebrated the Bengali New Year this week (if you're new to my blog, I teach in Bangladesh!). It is a time to celebrate with music, dancing and food. At my school we had local, traditional musicians perform...

...a horse and carriage ride (just for fun)...

...and my favorite, henna! Henna is a natural vegetable dye that is used for "temporary tattoos" and they are commonly done to celebrate a wedding, holiday or special occasion.
Beginning...

This was half way! Sorry, didn't get a final pic :(
We're rockin' our henna!
Student Led Conferences
We have been reviewing our digital portfolios for next week's conferences. Each student has a keynote/powerpoint presentation of their work from throughout the year. I plan to dedicate a post to this in the near future! Do your students have portfolios? I'd love to hear what kind, and how you manage them!!! I'm always trying to refine our portfolios so that they are more meaningful and definitely more manageable!

Bolgiversary!
I'm hosting a giveaway for my 1st Blogiversary! Read more about it HERE!!! I hope you'll enter!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Have a great weekend!!
